Bon jour
Comment allez vous?
In our previous lesson, we have
studied the expression “Il y a”: There is.
Today we are going to study a very French idiomatic expression: Voilà
Voilà Voilà is used to indicate something specific. It is actually
a preposition that means ''there is," ''there are," or even ''that
is."
Voilà takes the place of both the
subject and the verb, being used only with the object of the sentence.
VOILÀ LES ENFANTS.
(THERE ARE THE CHILDREN.)
VOILÀ UNE FENÊTRE.
(THERE IS A WINDOW.)
Because voilà doesn't really use a
verb, you don't have to worry about agreement with any of the words; articles
must still agree with the nouns, however.
So that’s all for now or to use our
idiomatic expression Voilà la leçon J.
Au Revoir
