Today we are going to study the indefinite articles in French.


Les articles indéfinis sont:


Un       (male)
Une     (female)
Des      (plural- male or female)

Marie a une voiture

(Marie has a car)

Je veux acheter un chien

(I want to buy a dog)

The negative form of the article indéfinis is the article "de" excepting the phrases that using the verb être:

Il n'a pas de chien

(He doesn't have a dog)

But...

Ce n'est pas un jeu amusant

(It's not a funny game)
